Elmer V. Sembly Jr., a dedicated and powerful Gospel preacher, has been in the ministry for over 40 years. He was introduced to the gospel in 1956 by Roy Beatty (now a minister in Texas). Shortly after this introduction, he was baptized into Christ by the late Henry Sellers.

Brother Sembly is well known throughout the Brotherhood for his work in helping to build one of the largest congregations in the eastern United States from 1957 - 1987: Central Church of Christ, in Baltimore, MD.  After much consideration and prayer, in April 1987, Brother Sembly decided to serve as the minister of the Metropolitan Church of Christ. In 1994, the congregation relocated to Deer Park, MD where he continues to serve as the senior minister. The congregation has grown to approximately 125 members. Brother Elmer Sembly Jr. is married to Mary Jean.   They have three children.

Scott Olden has been a member of the Lord’s Church for more than 20 years.  He and his wife, Angella, were taught by brother Elmer Sembly, Jr. and his wife, Mary Jean.  Scott and Angella were baptized into the body at the Central Church of Christ in 1984.  Scott has been an active member of the church and has served in a leadership role at the Church of Christ at Deer Park since 1987 (formerly known as Metropolitan Church of Christ).  He preached his first sermon at the Metropolitan Church of Christ under the mentorship of brother Elmer Sembly, Jr.

Scott strives to grow in knowledge and faith by teaching and preaching God’s Word to believers and unbelievers.  Scott and Angella have two sons.
